Shekikhachev Yury Akhmetkhanovich graduated with honors from the Kabardino-Balkarian Agroreclamation Institute with a degree in Mechanization of Agriculture in 1984.

He has been workling at the Kabardino-Balkarian State Agrarian University since 1986 to the present. Doctor of Technical Sciences (2001), Professor (2002), Dean of the Faculty of Mechanization and Energy Supply of Enterprises (2003).

He is a well-known scientist in the field of developing technological and technical solutions to improve the efficiency of crop cultivation. He takes an active part in international and Russian scientific and practical conferences, the results of which are reflected in leading Russian scientific journals, as well as publications indexed in the abstract databases Web of Science and Scopus.

Research results of Shekikhachev Yu.A. are presented in 475 scientific papers, including 35 monographs and brochures, 23 in publications included in the international abstract databases Web of Science and Scopus, 82 in publications recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission. Actively engaged in inventive activities, the author of 29 USSR copyright certificates and RF patents for inventions and utility models.

Based on the research materials, prototypes of more than 19 new means of mechanization of agricultural production were made, which were exhibited at various republican, Russian and international exhibitions and were awarded with 69 diplomas, 10 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals of the All-Russian Exhibition Center of the Russian Federation "Golden Autumn". Many of them were included in the catalog "System of machines for fruit growing in Russia".

On the basis of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education Kabardino-Balkarian State Agrarian University the scientific school "Energy-saving technologies and technical means in the agro-industrial complex" was created by Shekikhachev Yu.A. He prepared 2 doctors and 7 candidates of technical sciences.

Being highly qualified high school teacher, he pays, great attention to the educational process. He published 42 teaching aids.

He takes an active part in the social and scientific life of the KBR and Russia. Heis He is member of the election commission of the KBR with a decisive vote, Academician of the International Academy of Agrarian Education and the Adyghe (Circassian) International Academy of Sciences.

He is Honored Scientist of the KBR (2007).
